Good news: this is live. When you use the Unread filter in your inbox, scheduled messages no longer show up. You only see conversations with something actually waiting for you.

One thing to expect: if a client sent you an unread message and also has a scheduled message waiting, they will still show. That's on purpose — there's a real message there to read.
